Christmas is upon us and the New Year is just round the corner.
Remembrane has worked hard this year and has achieved great results: new technological and commercial partnerships, the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 international certification, a PCT patent application, the development of a first series of Refeed supplements.
And it is precisely our Refeed technology that I would like to talk about in the next few lines.
Many studies have shown that the lipid composition of cell membranes is extremely altered in vitro due to current cultivation processes (Lamaziere et al., 2013) and that such modifications are extensive enough to alter the biophysical properties of the cell membrane itself (Spector & Yorek, 1985). Supporting the idea suggested by the same authors that it might be possible to influence the lipid composition of cells by controlling the type of lipids added to the culture medium, Remembrane has developed completely defined combinations of lipids and antioxidants for either standard bovine serum, serum-free or chemically defined media. These supplements are specifically calibrated for each cell line or cell type and enable the cell to maintain in vitro the same lipid composition of the membrane network. Moreover, they can recreate in vitro the same membrane composition of any physiological or pathological conditions.
Imagine the great advantages of this technology applied to your research projects, avoid the big biases due to the alterations occurring in vitro, save time and money. With Refeed supplements, you can.
Have a wonderful holiday season. Happy culturing!
